About Corey

Corey Allen Jackson, at age 38, is a versatile composer whose work to date spans the gamut from animation to the thriller/horror genre. Known for his dramatic sensibility and mastery of the orchestral genre, he has composed music for over 25 projects, including Left in Darkness starring Monica Keena and Tim Thomerson, It Waits with Cerina Vincent, NBC's Emmy-nominated Starting Over and Sci-Fi Channel's Sasquatch Mountain with Lance Henriksen. His music can also be heard in many films for Oscar-nominated animator Bill Plympton including Hair High, Guide Dog, The Fan and the Flower and recent Tribeca selection's Shut-Eye Hotel & Idiots and Angels.

Education includes a post-graduate diploma in film scoring from the University of Southern California where he was awarded their highest award, bachelor and master degrees from the University of Oklahoma in music composition and additional training at La Schola Cantorum in Paris. He was also participant in the 10th Annual BMI conducting workshop. His list of past teachers includes Christopher Young, Carolyn Bremer, Samuel Adler, Lucas Foss, Lucas Richman and Juilliard's Philip Lasser.

Corey lives in Los Angeles with his violinist wife, Sharon. A cancer survivor, he is taking an active role in cancer support. His support website is located at web.mac.com/cojackmusic.
