Composer Corey Jackson has been working with vocalist & lyricist Ronny Munroe (Metal Church) & Sam from CliveAid to write an anthem for the charity CliveAid. It has been a dream come true to do something like this. It brings together two of his passions, classical music & electric guitars! More to be announced soon.
(The following is from www.cliveaid.com)
Cliveaid started life as a one off show at the Ruskin Arms in London's east end to raise a few pounds for Clive Burr the one time Iron Maiden drummer who know suffers from MS. As we moved forward with the show it seemed that a genuine nerve had been touched. The show sold out and the bands turned up including an embryonic GMT (guy, mccoy & torme) yeh it all started at Cliveaid. After a great show in the capital it was left there...Until some bright spark mentioned Clive’s legendary drum-kit, you know the one that recorded such minor records (sarcastic comment) as "Killers, Number of the beast & Iron Maiden" was just taking up space in his shed...Yeh his shed imagine that...his shed!
Anyway we could not lest it just sit there. So a call was put into The Hard Rock Cafe and next thing we know its party time on London's Mayfair the rock-stars turned out in force with Ian Paice, Tony Iommi, Bruce Dickinson, Yanick Gers, Adrian Smith, Clem Burke and many more coming to honour Clive. Ok now we've gone to far to stop so we started work on the next part.
With shows planned for a few new places we continued to work to help others. In Norway we donated to the Bergen Children's cancer ward providing enough funds for the hospital to buy some much needed equipment, In Los Angeles we held a show on Sunset strip raising funds for local causes. And now well the work is continuing with a full year of shows, new projects and the gaining of our first full charitable status. We are now registered in the USA and are awaiting our numbers from Norway. In the uk we will be filling for charitable status in the very near future until then we will continue to raise funds and give them directly. You have helped us to so far buy equipment for the childrens hospital in Bergen, helped us to help in the remodeling Clive Burrs house, Donated to teen cancer in LA and now the real challenge starts. .
